Solar Spa Club cleans solar panels on homes across the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, Conejo and Simi valleys, from Chatsworth to Thousand Oaks. Every panel is cleaned by hand. Estimates are free. Call (818) 913-1626 Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm, or request an estimate.
What does a solar panel cleaning include?
We clean the glass on every panel in your array and the frame edges where dust builds up. Then we rinse with purified water so the panels dry without streaks or mineral spots. If we notice a cracked panel, loose wiring or a nest, we’ll tell you what we see.
We don’t repair or inspect electrical equipment. We clean, and we report what we notice along the way.
How do you clean the panels?
By hand, with laboratory-grade deionized water and brushes and tools made specifically for solar panels. It’s a spotless water system, so the panels dry without leaving mineral deposits. We don’t pressure wash panels and we don’t scrape. Stuck-on dirt gets soaked and brushed until it lets go.
Purified water matters because ordinary tap water in the valleys is hard. It leaves white mineral spots as it dries. Purified water has the minerals taken out, so it dries clean and leaves nothing behind on the glass.
How often should panels be cleaned?
Once or twice a year works for most homes. Dust, pollen and ash build up slowly, and a good rain only moves some of it around. Panels near trees, a dirt lot or a construction site get dirty faster. So do panels where birds like to sit.
A flatter array holds on to more than a steeply tilted one, because there’s less slope for the dirt to slide off. If you’re not sure, look at the glass from the ground on a sunny morning. A visible film means it’s time.
Heading into a wet winter? See our El NiƱo 2026-27 guide for timing.
Does cleaning increase output?
Customers tell us they see up to 32% more output after a cleaning. That’s what they report, and it isn’t something we can promise for every system. A heavily soiled array has more to gain than a lightly dusty one. Your monitoring app will show you the difference if you compare a few sunny days before and after.
Do I need to be home?
No. We need access to the roof and, if you have one, the gate. We clean while you’re at work or out for the day, and we’re happy to send a note when we’re done.

Can you clean panels on a tile roof or two-story home?
Yes, and a lot of valley homes are exactly that. We work on the roof. We’re insured and rope access trained, and we use the safest techniques we know, especially on tile, because tile can crack under a bad step. Tell us the roof type and the number of stories when you ask for an estimate and we’ll plan the visit around it.
What about bird droppings and nesting?
Droppings come off the glass during a normal cleaning. Nesting is a bigger problem. Birds like the warm gap between the panel and the roof, and the debris they leave can collect there. Our bird proofing uses humane mesh, spikes and netting to close the gap or discourage landing. We clean the panels first, then install the proofing.
Is there a coating that keeps panels cleaner?
Yes. We apply Chemitek Solar Wash Protect, a coating applied to clean panels so dust and dirt release more easily. It goes on after a cleaning. The Chemitek page has the manufacturer’s details.
Can I bundle panels with window cleaning?
Yes. Many customers book window cleaning on the same visit, since we’re already on the property with purified water. If your roof or walls also need attention, ask about house washing and gutter cleaning.
All our work comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll come back and make it right at no additional cost.
